Small apartments often lack adequate light and outdoor space. Indoor gardens in the living room or bedroom are often an escape to the natural world. Inspired by the temporary mason jar plant corner in my living room that is devoid of sunlight, Ora can illuminate indoor gardens in small spaces. People can also read a book in the warm light.

Small living rooms can light up their cozy corner as well as enjoy a part of the outside on the inside
02
This lamp is inspired by a ceramic vase, a sculpture in itself, containing the natural world in an elegant composition in any home decor. We often observe that these vases appear as opaque containers holding cut flowers and concealing the structural supports of the plant. Thus, this lamp gives us a peek from within, it’s true inner beauty. It is a poetic expression filled with references to growth.
Look and inspire
We designed this project in collaboration with Gantri, the world’s first digital manufacturer for designer lighting. The design process was further guided by the company's design and digital manufacturing specifications.

Magical
vision
Ora gets its shape from an organic bulbous vase. The external opaque vase is sliced to reveal an interior transparent container that serves as a plant holder. The negative space in the middle is lit by the lower piece to create a magical vision, where internal and external light reflections produce a levitating effect. The light further illuminates the plant in the vase to create an elegant composition.

Ora functions as a lamp and a plant holder. Small living rooms can light up their cozy corner as well as enjoy a part of the outside on the inside. Its sculptural quality makes it an ideal addition to any home decor. The illuminated flat surface elevates an experience of a home garden and exposes the inner hidden supports of growth. This surface can be seen to eventually become a keeper of small and valuable objects of daily life.
